I was approached by the owner of Malia Exclusive to create a brand new online platform to sell event tickets, as previously all of their tickets sales had been made physicially or over their ticketline.
To allow customers to browse events and purchase tickets online.
Discovery → Brainstorm → Wireframe → Design → Build → Test → Live
We set up a meeting in person and started chatting through what the client was looking for. He explained the ins and outs of his business; how he made all ticket sales physicially or through their ticketline, but would love to be able to sell them online to drive sales and make things easier for customers. He was also looking for a quick turnaround as summer was fast approaching and customers would be looking to purchase tickets soon.
I proposed that the Shopify platform would be the best option, providing all the backend functionality & payment processing we would need without any of the development time. I guided him through the fees associated with it and ensured that he was happy to proceed. I then spent a few days researching similar events companies, particularly those operating in Greece's famous nightlife scene.
With a strong insight into the target market and competitors, I created lo-fi mockups of the various pages of the website.
My favourite stage of this project was working on the websites look and feel. With the target market being almost exclusively 18 - 28 years old, we settled on a vibrant colour palette with summery tones that really exuded the energy we were looking for. To top off our theme I chose a stylistic freehand brush font for the main hero heading and a modern italic sans-serif subheading.
I went on to produce a high fidelity design in Adobe XD, which the client was extremely happy with. I then built the website on top of Shopify's platform using their in-house coding syntax 'Liquid'. No paid themes were used, only the barebones page structure provided by Shopify.
